Receptions and weekends

Arrive by the river. Stay for a proper celebration.

If your ceremony happens elsewhere, make Lower Lode the place everyone comes together for drinks, food, speeches, live music and a lively evening.

Who it suits

For celebrations with an easy sense of arrival

A reception-only plan gives you freedom to focus on hospitality and the party. Welcome guests on the lawn when weather and conditions allow, gather in the hall for food and speeches, then make use of a space built for live celebrations.

The hall hosts more than 200 for an evening party. Dining numbers and the transition between each part depend on layout, so guest numbers should be discussed before you settle the format.

Details that matter

Plan the experience, not just the room

A proper reception atmosphere

Plan a riverside arrival, food, speeches, a full bar and live music or a DJ. The currently advertised 2am Friday and Saturday licence is a limit, not a guaranteed finish time; your written arrangements set the actual schedule.

Five rooms to discuss as a block

The five en-suite rooms may be available for a wedding block. Agree names, availability, breakfast arrangements and accessibility needs with the team before directing guests to book.

Traditional seasonal camping

From Easter to autumn, guests can discuss a rustic and sociable campsite with electric hook-up, drinking water, Elsan disposal, showers and toilets. It is practical riverside camping, not luxury glamping.

Check the inn's current accommodation information and camping information, then confirm the wedding-specific arrangements directly.

Yes. If you are marrying elsewhere, you can discuss a riverside arrival followed by food, speeches, a full bar, music and an evening celebration in the function hall.

The function hall has live-music capability and is used for evening celebrations. Talk through the act, equipment, setup and timings before confirming a supplier.

How late can an evening celebration run?

A 2am licence is currently advertised for Fridays and Saturdays. Your proposal and planning conversation will confirm the timings that apply to your date and format.

Can wedding guests camp?

Seasonal camping can be discussed, and complimentary camping is currently advertised with function-hall bookings. The team will confirm the allocation and practical arrangements for your celebration.

What facilities does the campsite have?

The traditional lawned campsite is open from Easter to autumn and currently provides electric hook-up, drinking water, Elsan disposal, showers and toilets. It is rustic and practical rather than glamping.

The practical conversation

Think about the whole guest experience

Plan how people will arrive from the ceremony, what they will eat, when evening guests join, how music fits the room and who hopes to stay. Friday and Saturday celebrations currently benefit from a venue licence to 2am, subject to the arrangements confirmed for your event.

Licence hours are not the same as guaranteed event timings. Your proposal and booking terms confirm the agreed schedule, bar arrangements, music plan and accommodation allocation.
