Planning live music at a rural wedding venue
Make music part of the room plan from the beginning.

Live music can change the energy of a room in seconds. It also affects layout, power, supplier access and the timetable, so bring it into the venue conversation early.
Match the act to the usable space
The Lower Lode function hall supports live music and has its own bar. Ask where a band or DJ normally sets up, how much floor area remains at your dining and evening guest count, and which doors or routes must stay clear.
Share the act’s technical requirements with the venue before committing. That includes power, stage footprint, sound equipment, lighting and set-up time.
Confirm the working timetable
A supplier needs to know when they can arrive, unload, sound-check, perform and collect equipment. If the hall changes from dining to dancing, find out whether set-up happens before guests arrive, behind a screen or during a room turn.
Lower Lode currently advertises a 2am licence on Fridays and Saturdays. A premises licence does not guarantee that every wedding runs until that time. Your proposal should confirm the agreed music, bar and guest-departure schedule.
Think about every guest
Create somewhere conversation remains possible and identify a quieter place for anyone who needs a sensory break. Keep accessible routes, seating and toilets usable once evening guests and equipment arrive.
Tell your act about the venue character and any volume or operational requirements given by the team. A professional supplier should be comfortable working within them.
Plan the ending
Late rural transport deserves the same attention as the first dance. Confirm taxis or arranged travel ahead of time and tell guests how they are getting back. If some people are staying in rooms or on the seasonal campsite, make their booking and access arrangements explicit.
Explore receptions and evening celebrations or ask about your music plans.
Venue details and operational arrangements can change. Confirm anything material for your date directly with Lower Lode Inn.
